Effective 2026. Last reviewed by Spenser Bauchman on launch.
Who this policy is from
This policy is mine. I am Spenser Bauchman, principal of Bauchman Mediation. It applies to information I collect through this website at bauchman-mediation.ca and through inquiry communications you send me.
What information I collect
Through the inquiry form: your name, role, firm or organisation, email address, the matter type, the names of parties and counsel relevant to a conflict check, an indication of value and date sensitivity, and a brief description of the matter. The honeypot field collects no human input; I use it only to detect automated submissions.
Through email and telephone inquiries: whatever you choose to send.
Through normal web logs at the hosting provider: IP address, user agent, request path, and timestamp. These are retained briefly for security and operational purposes only.
How I use that information
To run the conflict-check process. To respond to your inquiry. To engage as mediator or arbitrator if both parties subsequently agree to engage. To meet professional, regulatory, and tax obligations applicable to my practice.
Who I share information with
- The form-submission processor. I route form submissions through Formspree (formspree.io), which delivers them to my inbox. Formspree retains submissions according to its own privacy policy. I keep submissions in the inbox no longer than the conflict-check and engagement workflow requires.
- The email provider. I handle email correspondence through my mail provider, subject to that provider’s privacy practices.
- No advertisers, no analytics resellers, no third-party trackers. The site does not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising tags, social-media scripts, or chat widgets. If I later enable a privacy-respecting analytics tool (Plausible), it will be a first-party, cookieless deployment and I will note it in this policy.
- Where required by law. I may disclose information where compelled by valid legal process. Where consistent with that process, I will give you notice.
How long I keep it
I keep inquiry records for the duration of the conflict-check process and for a reasonable period after, to allow follow-up. I keep engagement records for the period required by professional and tax-recordkeeping rules, then destroy them.
Your rights
You may ask what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct inaccuracies, and ask that I delete information, subject to my obligation to retain certain records under applicable rules. Send requests to Bauchmanmediation@outlook.com.
If you are in Canada, your rights under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and any equivalent provincial statute apply to information I hold.
Cookies
The site does not set tracking cookies. If that changes, I will disclose the cookie inventory and purpose of each cookie here, and deploy a consent mechanism where required.
Security
I take reasonable measures to safeguard information: transport-level encryption (HTTPS) for the inquiry form, access controls on the inbox, and restraint in what I collect.
The web inquiry form is not a confidential channel. Confidential or privileged content should not be sent through it.
Changes
I update this policy to reflect changes in the tools I use or in applicable law. The "Effective" date above changes when the policy does.
